Transpose ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

By using Transpose, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: Full name, email address, and password when you register
  • Profile data: Your subscription plan, usage history, and account preferences
  • Content you submit: LinkedIn post text, Reddit post text, YouTube URLs, any other text you paste, and any attached images you provide for processing
  • Payment information: Billing details processed securely by Paddle (we do not store full card numbers)
  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, generation counts, timestamps, and error logs
  • Device and browser data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URLs
  • Communication data: Messages you send to our support team

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service
  • Process your content through our AI pipeline to generate output
  • Manage your account and subscription
  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Send service-related emails (account confirmations, password resets, billing notifications)
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve features and performance
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and other policies
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Content You Submit

When you paste a LinkedIn post, a Reddit post, or any other text, or provide a YouTube URL, that content (and any attached image) is sent to our AI processing pipeline (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to generate output. We handle submitted content as follows:

  • Source content is used solely to generate your requested output
  • We do not permanently store the raw text of your source submissions beyond what is needed for the current session
  • Generation logs (which plan was used, how many tokens were consumed) are retained for billing and usage tracking
  • We do not use your submitted content to train AI models

5. Information Sharing

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: We share data with third-party vendors who help us operate the Service, including Supabase (database and authentication), Paddle (payment processing), and Anthropic (AI generation). These providers are contractually bound to handle your data securely.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or governmental authority
  • Business transfers: If Transpose is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction
  • With your consent: We may share information for other purposes with your explicit consent

We do not share your content with other users or make it publicly available.

6. Data Retention

We retain different types of data for different periods:

  • Account information: Retained for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward
  • Usage logs and billing records: Retained for up to 3 years for financial record-keeping
  • Support communications: Retained for up to 2 years
  • Content submissions: Not retained beyond the processing session

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. We will honor deletion requests within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Secure, encrypted storage of authentication credentials
  • Access controls limiting employee access to user data
  • Regular security reviews

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

We encourage you to review these policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly. If you believe we may have information from a child under 13, please contact us.

12. International Data Transfers

Transpose operates from servers that may be located in different countries. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any such transfers.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will also notify you by email. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
